Help is available to certain low-income residents of Tennessee who cannot afford to buy health insurance.  TennCare, part of the Medicaid program, and the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program offer free or subsidized health insurance coverage, direct medical services, or other assistance at little or no cost to you.  In addition, the federal government, under the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program, provides tax credits to come workers who lose their jobs or whose work hours and wages are reduced as a result of increased imports. This chapter provides summary information about these programs and contact information for further assistance.
