- The Insurance Partnership helps small employers pay for health insurance for workers with incomes up to 300% of the federal poverty level. The Insurance Partnership also offers subsidies to eligible employees and dependents.
For your small business to be eligible for subsidies, you must have no more than 50 employees. In addition, you must offer (or plan to offer) health insurance and contribute (or be willing to contribute) at least 50% of the cost of employee insurance, and have at least one uninsured employee. If you are self-employed, you may also be eligible for subsidies through this program.
- If your small business is eligible for subsidies, you may receive up to $1,000 per year per eligible employee to help offset the cost of health insurance. Eligible employees are individuals 19-64 year old who meet income standards and who have not been offered insurance from their employer in the last 6 months or eligible for coverage through their spouse’s employer.
- Individuals working for small employers may also be eligible for subsidies under this program (see Chapter 5).
