  • Louisiana law limits how much small employers can be charged for health insurance. Within limits, premiums for small group health insurance policies can vary based on health status, age, industry, and other characteristics of those in your group.  For small employers with between 3 and 35 employees, Louisiana limits the difference in premiums and the annual increase that can be charged.  If you have fewer than 3 employees or more than 35 eligible employees, these are no limits on premium variations.  If you have questions about your group health insurance premiums, contact the Louisiana Insurance Department.
